Mühltal, Germany, 24/06/2025: Long range, agile, tried and tested – Riese & Müller is launching a comprehensively revised version of its popular touring e-bike with the new Charger5. Whether for daily commuting around town or relaxed trips into the countryside and off-road, the Charger5 impresses with its versatility, riding comfort, and high-quality workmanship.

Latest technology for enhanced performance

The Charger5 utilises the latest drive and battery systems: its new multi-drive motor interface means that the model is compatible with the powerful Bosch Performance Line PX, Bosch Performance Line CX and Performance Line Speed drives as well as with the innovative Pinion MGU E1.12 and E1.12 S motor gear units.* So now customers can choose from different drives depending on their intended use.

More comfort for more people

Riese & Müller has comprehensively developed the technology and the ergonomics with the new Charger5: with the extended range adapted to many more heights of rider, enabling people between 160 to 210 cm tall to ride comfortably. And thanks to its well thought-out weight distribution, the Charger5 also impresses with its balanced, safe riding behaviour – even at higher speeds. Increased pressure on the front wheel also ensures short braking distances and additional safety. A suspension fork and seatpost offer optimum comfort even on uneven terrain.

Design meets functionality

Inspired by the design of the Delite, Homage and Charger ranges, the Charger5 impresses with its clean, superior look: polished weld seams and an aluminium battery cover painted in the same colour as the frame underline the model’s premium approach. The battery can be conveniently removed or charged directly on the top tube via an ergonomically designed charging socket.

Enhanced safety and smart features as standard

The new Charger5 offers a high level of safety directly from the factory: a powerful headlight with main beam and dipped beam, a rear light with brake light function and a standard frame lock with chain protect both rider and bike. In addition, every Charger5 is equipped as standard with an RX Chip for digital anti-theft protection and route tracking.** As a veritable all-rounder, the Charger5 offers a wide range of transport options: the integrated MIK HD carrier system makes it possible to securely attach a shopping basket, child seat or panniers. If you need even more storage space, you can add a front luggage carrier with matching bag.
