Introduction
Riese & Müller GmbH is committed to making its RX Connect app accessible to people with impairments in accordance with the German Accessibility Enhancement Act (BFSG). This Accessibility Statement applies to the RX Connect app.
General description of the service
The RX Connect app offers owners of a Riese & Müller e-bike access to advanced features relating to their e-bike. To use these features, users must first register on the manufacturer’s website and book an RX Service. The app is available in German, English, Spanish, Italian, French and Dutch. An internet connection is required to use it. A smartphone with the current minimum system requirements, as described in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, is also required.
Compatibility status with the requirements
The RX Connect app is partially compatible with the German Accessibility Enhancement Act (BFSG) due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is not accessible to people with impairments for the following reasons:
- Connection to an e-bike via a Bluetooth connection must be established within a fixed time window. The countdown for this time window cannot be stopped and is specified by the hardware manufacturer of the components installed on the e-bike. We have made adjustments so that the app can use the maximum time window for a connection.
Non-optimised barriers
Known barriers to the app include the following. A fix is planned with future updates:
- Some interactive elements cannot be controlled correctly by a screen reader.
- Some elements are not played correctly when using a screen reader.
- Some interactive elements do not have descriptive labels.
- A landscape mode is only available for some areas of the app.
- Some form fields are not fully accessible to people with impairments.
- Some elements use font sizes that are too small.
- Some elements use contrast that is too low.
- Some elements cannot be easily scaled to 200% of the original font size.
- Some content is not perceived correctly when using a screen reader as it updates automatically.
- Some headings are not recognisable as such by the program.
- Some interactive elements do not have visible focus.
- Some links are not recognisable as such when using a screen reader.
- The map function can only be operated partially with one finger.
- Some interactive elements have a click area that is smaller than the minimum size specified.
- Interactive elements behave differently despite their identical appearance.
- Error messages are not always accessible to people with impairments.
- The names and roles of some interactive elements are not always recognisable by the program.
- Some status messages are not in focus are not always recognisable as such.
